What is Branding?

Branding is the development of a positive set of perceptions about your business or product in the minds of your customers. Branding efforts can positively affect sales as customers often base purchase decisions on their perception of your brand.

When potential customers come across your name, they search their memory banks to determine what they know about you.

Their opinions could be the result of direct communications you’ve had with customers, marketing efforts, rumors, or even through social media. Their opinions can be positive or negative.

There is also the chance that some potential customers have no information at all about you or your products.

Whether the customers’ perceptions about you are positive or negative, accurate or mistaken, they make up the image of your brand in your customers’ minds and they influence your customers’ behaviors!

Your brand’s image is in your customers’ thoughts, whether you intentionally put it there or not. Branding is the process of making sure that their perception of your brand is the one you want.

The secrets of HOW to develop your brand will have to wait for a future blog post!

The Key to Successful Customer Engagement: Cross-Channel Marketing

Personalized Targeted communication is the key to successful customer engagement!

Today the majority of company communication lacks relevance towards its intended audience. This translates into a disconnection between the customer and the company.  Failure to deliver the right message, to the right person at the right time, using their preferred channel of communication, results in a negative customer experience.

Regardless of the industry, it’s very clear that companies can be doing more to engage customers better. Whether its personalized communications, more face time with customers, companies are encouraged to appeal to the wants, needs and desires of their audience. Having a company appeal to your individuality rather than your demographic helps people engage easier.

Research shows that the way an organization engages with its customers can influence its ability to build Brand Advocacy and Customer Loyalty. Companies of all types are encouraged to implement Cross-Channel Communication strategies in an effort to provide improved customer engagement and appeal to customer individuality.

What are you doing to actively engage your customer?

Go Daddy Superbowl Commercial – Sets Sales Record with QR Code!

Last night featured the first ever Superbowl Commercial using QR Code technology on the television screen!

Go Daddy  issued a press release this morning indicating “Go Daddy broke its own records for sales on a Super Bowl Sunday” and they also claimed that their QR code produced the “best mobile website traffic … ever.”

“Go Daddy engaged smartphone users by putting a Quick Response (QR) Code on its Super Bowl commercial, “Cloud.” and “receive discounts for Go Daddy’s cloud-based products and services.”

“Initially, some criticized the move, saying the QR Code looked unusual on the screen, but the gamble paid off as more viewers than ever visited GoDaddyMobile.com.”

“We decided it was worth the risk to play to all the people watching the game and using their smartphones simultaneously,” said Go Daddy Executive Chairman and Founder Bob Parsons. “I’m thrilled we made the decision. Viewers scanned the code and as a result, Go Daddy set an all-time sales record for our mobile site.”

Marketing strategies designed to engage smartphone users is critical and those who continue to target that audience will reap the rewards.

QR Codes in Superbowl Commercials? Believe it!

Welcome to Berland Communication’s BLOG

Tomorrow is Super Bowl XLVI  and the New York, Giants will take on the New England, Patriots…but the real story is in the commercials.

Advertisers are hoping to take advantage of what is arguably televisions biggest marketing event of the year! Many people watch the Superbowl just for the commercials and this year QR CODES are the sexy technology being featured.

For example, Go Daddy will be showing an ad that is 30 seconds long and will star Danica Patrick, the auto racing driver, as well as a lineup of the Pussycat Dolls pop girl group, who will be accompanied by a QR code that will be displayed onscreen.

With Smartphone usage on the rise & virtually 1 in 2 Americans owning a smartphone today, advertiser predict viewers of the game will have a smartphone handy and will be capable of scanning the codes with a QR Code reader when they are displayed on the Super Bowl Sunday television screen.

Today about 6% of the population uses QR Codes but that number is growing rapidly and so is our need to connect with our “Mobile Audience”.

We will save the discussion on your “Mobile Audience” for another time!

Enjoy the Game!
